Welcome to Haven House

Haven House provides emergency housing and support services for one-parent and two-parent families with children.  The shelter helps families who are homeless prepare for permanent housing by developing and promoting self-sufficiency, stability, and financial responsibility.

Renovation Celebration

Haven House hosted an Open House on June 15, 2009 to show off the new renovations and to thank our supporters. We were pleased to have Representative Mark Meadows and Mayor Vic Loomis kick off the event with a few words. We had a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a few short words from one of our funders, a representative from the East Lansing Rotary Foundation. Special thanks were given to Lansing Rotary Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Michigan State Housing Development Authority.

Haven house appreciates all of those who contributed to the Capital Campaign. This event would not have been possible without YOU!

	Benefit Concert a Big Success Benefit Concert a Big Success!! Matthew Oelson, an MSU student who volunteered at Haven House on MLK Day, was so impressed by what he saw that day that he decided he wanted to do more for Haven House. Because he is a musician, he decided to organize a benefit concert at Martin Luther Chapel in East Lansing on May 30, 2009. It was a remarkable event! More >> Thursday, June 18, 2009
	Haslett High School Supports Haven House The Vision, Haslett High School's Award Winning Television and Film program, hosted their 5th telethon, T5. The Vision has been creating films and helping our community for over twelve years. The past telethons have raised over $50,000 for the program and local families in need. This year they increased their contributions by raising over $14,000 and presented a $7,500 check to Haven House. More >> Monday, June 01, 2009
	Haven House Greeting Cards Haven House has created a number of greeting cards for a variety of occasions from artwork created by children residing at Haven House and artwork contributed by artists. For a contribution of a minimum of $10 we will send a card to someone you designate, acknowledging that a contribution has been made in their honor to Haven House. More >> Sunday, January 25, 2009
	Rep. Mark Meadows Challenge Met State Representative Mark Meadows challenged Mid-Michigan residents to help in the fight against poverty and homelessness in the community. As citizens heard the news they decided to take Meadows up on his offer and Haven House received $2,355 from generous donors. Meadows offered to match up to $1,000 of the monetary donations to Haven House bringing the grand total of contributions to $3,355. If you receive mailings from Haven House and you wish us to make any corrections, please contact us and we will be happy to make the changes.  If you receive duplicate mailings, let us know that as well.  We strive to keep the information about our supporters as accurate as possible, but on occasion we realize that we do make errors.  To contact us with a correction you may e-mail the information to us at:  mailinglist@HavenHouseEl.org or you may call Haven House at 337-2731 and ask for Darlene. 

Haven House Greeting Cards

     Send a greeting and help Haven House

Father's Day will be here soon! Celebrate the fathers in your life with the assortment of greeting cards that utilize drawings by children who were temporarily residing in Haven House or artwork contributed by friends of Haven House. Inside the card will acknowledge your contribution to Haven House in honor of the recipient or occasion. For a contribution of $10 or more per card we will send a card to the person of your choosing. Simply tell us which card you would like to send and give us the mailing information of the recipient(s). To order on-line, jot down the identity number of the card(s) you wish to send. To download an order form that you can e-mail as an attachment or mail to Haven House, click here. To send your order by e-mail, send it to cards@HavenHouseEL.org. Then please call us at 337-2731 and ask for Maresa in order to arrange payment. (We anticipate having an on-line ordering system that will include the ability to pay by credit card or Pay-Pal sometime soon.
