On May 22 we had a successful Charity Golf Scramble at Hawk Hollow. Golfers enjoyed a nice day on a very nice course while supporting the activities of Haven House. Haven House was especially fortunate to have the support of two celebrities, Rick Comley, the coach of the MSU Spartan National Champion Hockey Team (2007) and Kevin Miller, former MSU hockey player and then successful professional hockey player in the NFL for a number of different teams (and currently a financial adviser at Kevin Miller Financial Services in Lansing). Competing foursomes were able to have Kevin Miller hit their drive for them on one hole (and to chat with Kevin along the way). Rick Comley was gracious enough to join the golfers for an after-golf snack, even though he had just learned that he was once again a grandfather. After delaying his departure to Chicago to see his new grandchild he left immediately after the outing to do so. The golfers had an opportunity to hear from Coach Comley about the Spartan Hockey Team, and then to bid in an auction of a number of things that included hockey memorabilia graciously provided by both Coach Comely and Kevin Miller. Bidding was especially spirited for a hockey stick signed by the well-known members of the extended Miller hockey family and for an opportunity to sit on the bench at MSU Hockey game.
Our golf outing would not be a success without the support of our many sponsors, our celebrities, and the golfers who participate. Thank you very much to all of you!

Kevin Miller and Coach Comely...probably talking hockey (or about the important role of Haven House).
A happy foursome with Kevin Miller
